Beauty from Pain

Here the prophet Joel writes to the Israelites in a time of crisis. They have, apparently, endured a devastating locust infestation that has destroyed their fields and left them in dire straits. But they have also wandered from God, they seem to have drifted away from Him and providing offerings to Him. Painful crisis tend to create watershed moments for us. They wake us up from complacency, put things in perspective, and, most importantly, reveal how near or far we are from the Lord. This series will be an examination of Joel’s prophecy and how it teaches us to handle pain.
