Jesus the Better Way

Before Jesus, in order to approach God people had to have a High Priest go into the Holy of Holies on their behalf – sprinkling blood and offering sacrifices for both his and those her represented sins. He had to do this year in and year out because sin never stopped and, as Hebrews will tell us, no animal sacrifice can take away sin. Jesus steps in and becomes our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) – our new High Priest who made the sacrifice once and for all. Jesus has done something profound – He has made it so we don’t have to travel to any place to reach God and we don’t have to go through any other human. We can be in God’s presence any time, any place, we can call on His name ourselves. Jesus is better than any system the Jews used to have – He is also better than any way the world offers today. Jesus is always the better way.
