Remembering Jesus

$65.00Price

We are always looking for alternatives to Jesus. “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” Hebrews 2:1 In the Christian world it can become so easy to take Jesus for granted, to forget out startling, profound, and truly fantastic the Gospel and following Jesus really is. David wrote in Psalms 23:1, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want…” Because the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want anything else – have all in Him. The Devils greatest device for the Christian is to make him – who has Jesus – forget that he already has all that he could ever need or want. Whomever the writer of Hebrews is writing to must have begun to “drift away” from Jesus and so his letter seems to really serve a beautiful sermon calling them back to Jesus – they are forgetting Him. How easy this is for us today – how easy it is to be more enamored with the things of this world than Christ – more worried about our own business then seeking to do His – more respectful and beholden to our own ambitions, comforts, and dreams – more dreading of our own fears then trusting in His word. This series is all about remembering Jesus – that He is simply everything. The book of Hebrews talks over and over again about Jesus being superior and having better ways.
